Global warming sucks. Of course Sarah Palin doesn’t believe global warming exists. She doesn’t live in an area succeptible to anything more then the occasional moose fart (and the highest violent abuse versus women and rape rates in the country, but I digress). If she were were born and raised in a Gulf state or has spent any amount of time on the Asian side of the Pacific, the fact that Global Warming exists and is causing more frequent and more severe storms would be a no-brainer for her. I wonder what her world view would be if she were from New Orleans instead?

On that note, the 4th (or 5th? I’ve lost count) “super typhoon” this season has just hit the east side of Taiwan and will be passing over my home at some point today. 

Damn…couldn’t it at least have waited until Monday so I wouldn’t have to work?

As usual, Starbucks is still open (kinda funny seeing Starbucks open with taped-up windows and people in line wearing rain parkas) so that’s as good excuse as any to go outside and burn some tri-x.

    i doubt she actually doesn’t believe that it exists, but maybe she is debating what started it or how severe it is.

    I’m okay. Did get soaked going to Starbucks and the wind knocked me into a wall once, but it was fun. :)

    I have to refine my statement on Palin. She does think that there is a weather phenomena occurring, she just doesn’t believe that it is the result of human activity or that it is serious.

    But that still leaves me wondering exactly what she thinks is causing it and how not-serious she thinks it is. The mayor of New Orleans said in a press conference after Katrina that he believed that the hurricane was God’s punishment for sin.

    Evangelical pastor John Hagee (whose support McCain infamously lobbied for) thinks Katrina was the result of New Orleans plans to hold a gay pride parade. Maybe Palin thinks the same?

    But that would mean that God thinks that Eastern Asia and Southern N. America are hell-bound while Europe and South America are pinnacles of moral behavior?

    Wait…Las Vegas has suffered no quakes, massive storms, or any other natural disasters in recent history…

    Honestly, I would really love to know what she thinks. But since she won’t talk to anyone all we can do is guess. :(
