First Meeting of the (Insert Club Name Here)

So last Sunday a bunch of camera-toting foreigners with cameras hooked up for the first time at Forkers in Taipei. There were decent burgers (not my favorite hamburger, but good), friendly talk, and some general scheming for the future. A lot more people showed up then I thought there would be. I think the actual response and turnout surprised the group’s originator, too. What really surprised me is that Darren is someone that I’ve seen and had brief talks with quite a few times over the past couple of years. In fact, he used to work half-a-block from my home. I just didn’t recognize his name until I walked into the restaurant and his head popped up.

We don’t have a name or a specific game-plan yet but we do have general direction and tons of enthusiasm. As for a name, I volunteer “Taiwan eggs” .

From Forkers we migrated via the MRT to Dragon Mountain Temple where we milled about taking photos of a seemingly abnormal number of Japanese tourists taking photos of each other. I’ll be developing my negs tonight and will post my shots later on this week (I was one of only 2 filmies that was there. The other filmie was someone I invited. )

Thanks for the initative, Darren and I’ll see you next month.
