Thank You Starbucks!

Head to Starbucks on Nov 4th after you vote!

I blogged a few days back about how annoying (well, “sad” is probably a better word) it is for me that voter turnout in my country is traditionally low. I mean, seriously…absentee ballots, early voting in 39 states, your employeer required to give you enough time off to vote…and yet barely 1/2 of the electorate casts a ballot.

Pitiful for the country that advertises itself as the pinnacle of Democracy.

What will it take? Well, apparently 8 years of whom many consider to be the worst president in the past century and who was elected both times in real squeakers has helped solidify the fact that individual votes do matter (along with functional polling equipment and the vision of elderly folks in Florida). Now it looks like more then 2/3 of elgible voters may actually get their butts to the polls this year.

Oh yeah, to the title of this post. I’m not the only one hopeful that my fellow Americans would be more active in their future direction. The folks at Starbucks are, too. And they’re doing something about it. Check it out:
