My Favorite Author Has Passed

I’m still not really believing this. Michael Crichton, author or some of my favorite books like the Andromeda Strain and, of course, Jarassic Park and the Lost World has died. He was only 66, barely at the age of “retirement” and still with a good number of books in him. Apparently, he was fighting cancer. Did anyone out there even know that he was sick? I’ve browsed around but have found little to nothing about him having cancer until the announcement of his death.

My other favorite author of the 20th century, H.P. Lovecraft, died quite some time ago. I need to get to a bookstore.

Does anyone have any suggestions on authors or books I might enjoy? I prefer mystery, science fiction, and gothic horror. Just leave any suggestions in your comments. Thanks!
