@Miki As far as I know, yes. It's a deal made with WiFly...7-11s host the access points and in exchange they have exclusivity selling the cards.

Wait...Starbucks, too. :-P

HOWEVER...

If you have a credit card you can always just logon to a WiFly access point and purchase a code & access directly from your device. They have custom pages for mobile phones & tablets, so you won't have to squint to see a full webpage on your iPhone.

Hope this helps!

HI Brian, am I correct that the card is only sold in 7-11 in Taipei City and not in other places?

Hi Brian,

Is wifly still available for purchase as of now?
I am from Singapore and will be traveling to Taipei in November.
I am not intending to bring my laptop, but would like to bring my iPod touch to make use of wifi.
Will I be able to get free wifi access easily, or is it better to buy wifly access?

It may not work with WiFly anymore as since I wrote the article they've changed their authentication process. I haven't tried with Easy WIFI it recently.

I think it's free now because much of what it does (the auto-login on webpage-based authentication) has been part of the iPhone/iPod Touch OS since v3.0
