The French have the croissant. The Canadians have maple syrup and “bacon”. America has the hot dog. There are 2 culinary temples dedicated to the American hot dog: Nathans in New York and Pinks in Los Angeles. This year Pinks turns 70 years old. That may not seem like a long time, but LA is a very young city and from the perspective of it’s timeline Pink’s Hot Dogs is ancient.

Here’s a fun fact about Pink’s: Orson Wells holds the record for the most hot dogs eaten in one sitting there.

The line has grown a bit since the last time I ate there, probably because it has been featured by some of the “travel chefs” such as Anthony Bourdain. Surprisingly the fame hasn’t effected anything other then the length of the line. It still looks the same as when I was a kid and the prices are still very reasonable.

It’s a destination for foodie tourist and local alike.

Haven’t seen a post from you in a while but just realised your feed stopped working. Can’t hide that easily and changing countries won’t work mate!
Good to see you’re having fun. I’ve been enjoying my 35/1.4 Nokton too!
Pete! F*&K! How have you been? Haven’t seen any stuff from you @dA!
The RSS died because I changed URLs. I’m using feedburner now so it really shouldn’t matter if that happens again.
Bin good but busy mate (not enough days in a week!). Mainly just posting occasionally to my blog. You just reminded me I should probably mirror it to dA at least… and update Facebook!
