For me, this was a fast turnaround.
Thanks to some great initative by Craig Feruson, late yesterday afternoon about a dozen professional and enthusiast photographers met at the Liuzhangli MRT station for a photowalk down a bit of Keelung Road and through the Liuzhangli Street market. It was great fun. I really enjoyed seeing some familiar faces like TC Lin and Craig & his fiance again, plus meeting new people whom I had only known previously from the Taipei Photo Club Flickr group. TC suggested that next time we wear name tags with our Flickr username on them. That would kinda be pointless for me since my username there is the same as my real name and I tend to post more on deviantART where I’m part of the volunteer staff, but it would save a lot of “Oh! So that’s you!” moments. I didn’t stay for dinner…my leg was killing me and I was itching to get home and process the couple of rolls of Tri-x I burned through.
My leg is still killing me, but the negs are done. Here are my favorites of the day. Click on an image to enlarge.
And here are all of the ones that are slightly presentable, including the obligatory photos-of-photographers-taking-photos and other gems. Click on a thumb to enlarge.
Comments and constructive criticizm is always appreciated!

Nice shots. You’re faster than me – I haven’t even had time to look at the photos I took, much less blog them.
Yeah, this was actually a fast turnaround for me. Usually I’m very lazy about processing. But since it’s film, the only PS’ing I usually have to do is adding in IPTC stuff and a rare dodge/burn.
I so like that you’re deciding to go old school and use my all-time favourite film, Tri-X. Takes me back to my old darkroom days. Thanks for posting so quickly, it’s nice to see some shots from the day. I haven’t even taken the CF card out of my camera yet; so lame!
Thanks! I actually go back and forth between Tri-X and HP5+…the shop that sells tri-x in bulk rolls tends to run out on the regular basis and I end up going next door to buy 100ft of HP5+ when that happens.
Read This blog article for a humorous recent account.
If you ever want to give it a shot, I have 1x 1 roll plastic tank, 3x 2-roll plastic tanks, 1x 5 roll plastic tank, 1x 1 roll steel tank, 1x 2 roll steel tank, and 1x 4 roll steel tank…more then enough for you to borrow one.
Maybe I should hold a “processing b&w” workshop.
