Love Animals Day in Taipei

Yeah, there was no Streets Saturday feature today.

Sorry.

But it was the “Love Animal Day” pet carnival in Taipei city, Taiwan and as a pet-lover (I have 2 rescued dogs and a turtle at the moment) and the father of pet-loving twin boys, we had to go. There was a nice mix of commercial booths, advocate and volunteer service booths (both Animals Taiwan and the SPCA were there), and educational booths. A few veterinarians were even offering free checkups. Overall, Love Animal Day was a great experience. My favorite bit? Seeing the huge amount of support for mixed breeds…not a common thing in a culture where dogs are often more fashion accesory then companion.

Here are some pictures.

Tomorrow, April 25th, is World Pinhole Day. It’s also my grandfather-in-laws 96th birthday. It’s going to be a busy day taking photos. :)
