Picturing Daily Life: the Kids Monthly Haircut & Shampoo
Since my wife left work at noon and I didn’t have anything scheduled after this morning, we decided to take the boys to have their hair cut, washed, and styled. We took them to their normal barbershop, Zix in Ming Yao (on Chungsiao East).
The front area where the haircuts took place was very evenly lit, so all photos there were done with ambient lighting. There were no lights above the shampoo sink, so I used an external flash to brighten things up. Thankfully the ceiling was low and the walls were close, so I targeted the flash straight up and used a slow shutter speed so that the flash light was spread out evenly. The camera was an Olympus E-P2. I used both an Olympus 14-32/f3.5-5.6 and 17mm/f2.8 lens.
Kid’s haircuts always make for such great photographic fodder.
